Evening Youth Choir rehearses from 6:30 PM to 8 PM every Tuesday evening and again 1 hour before mass each week.

Q: Do I have to be able to read music in order to join?

A: No. Although being able to read music is a big help, it is not a requirement. Many musicians in our group find other ways to learn the repertoire through tapes and repetition. We also have a rehearsal web site where each weeks rehearsal is recorded and posted for listening.

Q: Must I be at rehearsals in order to sing at Mass?

A: Generally, yes, although some exceptions can be made for musicians who are already experienced in the material. New musicians to the choir should attend all rehearsals in order to properly serve at the Mass. Soloists for a Mass are also required to attend rehearsals as well.

Q: Does the Music Ministry provide music instruction?

A: Generally, no. Although some instruction is done during the year, the primary focus of the groups is to prepare material for the Mass celebration and other events throughout the year. Vocalists can join the choir with no prior musical training. Instrumentalists should have some prior musical training. Traditionally, the only form of musical instruction done during the year is a annual choral workshop.
